ANNUAL MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS GALA
The Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society- Xi Tau Chapter and Chemistry Club at Capital University will be hosting its first annual Mental Health Awareness Gala in the spring. This event was created to help bring awareness to the ongoing mental health crises amongst STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) students as well as those with a career in STEM. As high as 30% of those participating in STEM-related academics and/or professions experience depression, and 15% are at risk for suicide.
To raise awareness for these ongoing concerns, the members of Beta Beta Beta at Capital University want to raise money to support local charities and organizations who also aim to not only bring awareness to this crisis but also directly help those impacted, no matter the age, in a variety of ways.
This spring, the gala will be hosted on Thursday, April 25th, 2024 at The Lakes Golf and Country Club, located in Westerville. Doors open at 5:30 pm for registration and the Gala will start at 6:00 pm. We would like to invite you to support this cause and have provided a few ways to show your support. This year, BBB welcomes keynote speaker, Meredith Kessler who is a Professional triathlete & 11x IRONMAN Champion; 23 x 70.3 Champion.
The first way to get involved is by becoming an event sponsor. This year we are offering our sponsors various benefits to show our gratitude. Please refer to the sponsorship options mentioned. The second is with a donation to our silent auction. We will be having a silent auction throughout the night that guests will be bidding on with all the proceeds going to various local charities and organizations. Anything is greatly appreciated for the silent auction from themed gift baskets, merchandise, or a gift card. If you would like to provide an item or full basket for the silent auction, please use the more information contact provided below. Both of these support options will be acknowledged at the event as well as on our social media page.
The attire for this event is semi-formal. Business attire is appropriate but we ask that you not wear anything too casual such as jeans or t-shirts.
Visit our Gala webpage for more details regarding the event.
