From the first-year teacher to the seasoned pro, the Complete Band Director Workshop provides practical solutions for today's instrumental music teacher.

The workshop features participation options for hands-on conducting and playing, dual sessions for more individualized curriculum content, and a two-day or four-day workshop option featuring Randall Standridge and Jason Fettig. Lunch is included in the workshop fee.

Randall Standridge

Mr. Standridge is an internationally performed composer whose works frequently appear on J.W. Pepper’s Editor’s Choice list. Snake Charmer, Gently Blows the Summer Wind, and Angelic Celebrations are featured in the Teaching Music Through Performance in Band series, and many of his compositions have been showcased at the Midwest Clinic. Major premieres include Art(isms) (CBDNA, 2010), Stonewall: 1969 (LGBA, 2019), and Symphony No. 1: A Ghost Story (2023). His acclaimed unBroken Project supports mental-health awareness through music.

Beyond composing, he owns and edits Randall Standridge Music, LLC and Grand Mesa Marching, and is a sought-after arranger and designer in the marching arts. He lives in Jonesboro, Arkansas, with his husband, Steven, and their spoiled pets.

Jason Fettig

Jason K. Fettig is Director of University Bands at the University of Michigan, where he leads the renowned band program, conducts the Symphony Band, and oversees the graduate wind-conducting program. Previously, he served as the 28th Director of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, advising three U.S. Presidents and conducting the inaugurations of Presidents Trump and Biden, as well as the State Funeral of President George H.W. Bush.

Fettig has led performances in 49 states and internationally, appearing at major venues such as Carnegie Hall, Severance Hall, Chicago Symphony Center, and the Kennedy Center, with broadcasts frequently featured on NPR. He has premiered more than 50 new works, produced acclaimed recording projects—including the complete Sousa marches—and collaborated with leading artists from John Williams and Joshua Bell to Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Lady Gaga, and Broadway stars.

A dedicated educator, Fettig has taught at dozens of colleges and schools nationwide and created influential resources such as the Marine Band’s “Digital Rehearsal Hall.” He is President of the National Band Association and a recipient of major honors, including the Midwest Clinic Medal of Honor, a New York Emmy Award, and an honorary doctorate from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
